ShortFest is the largest short film event in North America. It operates under the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and is Academy Award, BAFTA and Goya-qualifying.
In my final year at ArtCenter College of Design, I designed a hypothetical brand identity for the Palm Springs International Film Festival and ShortFest. A year later I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to redesign the logo for the actual ShortFest.
I created a new logo, color palette and palm pattern design. The new logo reflects the festival's spirit, which is youthful, modern, casual, and educational. The colors are inspired by Palm Springs's triple-digit weather and beautiful desert sunsets.
